The chapter met in St Mary’s Church, Kidlington for Guild Office & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday 7th November. The chaplain, Revd Jason St John Nicolle, officiated for the Office and led prayers for the departed members and supporters of the chapter during Benediction.
Revd Canon Anthony Ellis, the Rector of Kidlington, gave the address. Canon Ellis took as his theme words from the collect for All Saints day, ‘O Almighty God, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and fellowship’, and spoke of the communion we have with all believers, both those alive and the faithful departed.
Afterwards a chapter meeting was convened to agree Group 9 nominations to General Council. No new nominations were received and it was resolved to support Cllr Clive Tilling’s candidacy to serve for a further term. The meeting recorded its thanks to Fr Jason for leading the worship and to Canon Ellis for welcoming the chapter to St Mary’s.
Present: Bros. Trevor Langrish, Dennis Dean, Ken Belcher, Bruce Armour, Ben Heffer and Cllr Clive Tilling; Srs. Susan Greenaway, Jenny Dowdeswell, Angela Dean; Revd Canon Anthony Ellis and Revd Jason St John Nicolle; Supporters: Naomi Heffer, Amy Cooper, Barbara Belcher, Pam Cooper, Robert Warren and Prof. David Murray.
Apologies: Stan Goodwin, Jenny Pittaway and Sid Cox.

Revd Tony Knox
It is with sadness that we record the death of Revd Tony Knox of Yarnton. Whilst not a member of the GSS, Fr Tony was well known to many of our members in Kidlington where he assisted in his retirement. He also kindly conducted one of our chapter services for us last year when the chaplain was away. Please remember Fr Tony in your prayers and also his widow Susan and their family. +May all the faithful departed rest in peace and rise again in glory.
