Naomi Heffer

Congratulations to Naomi Heffer, one of our altar servers from Kidlington, who was confirmed by Bishop John last Sunday. Seven people were confirmed during the service at St Mary's Church, Kidlington, on the evening of the Feast of Christ the King. May God continue to bless and support them on their Christian journey.

16th November - Kidlington

The chapter met on the evening of Sunday, 16th November to sing the Guild Office and offer prayers for the departed members of the chapter.

The service commenced with a recitation of the Angelus and concluded with the names of the members, supporters and priests who had been associated with the chapter. Revd William Whyte led the worship and preached. In his address, Fr William traced the origins of the church's practice of praying for the dead drawing its inspiration from the Jewish Kaddish, the mourning prayer.

Our thanks to the people of St John's for welcoming the chapter once again and for providing refreshments afterwards.

Present: Ken Belcher, Dennis Dean, Kim Clowsley, Stan Goodwin, Trevor Langrish, Robert Warren, Ben Heffer, Jim Curtis, Frank Howlett, William Whyte, Hilary Campbell, Angela Dean, Jenney Dowdeswell, Barbara Belcher, Susan Greenaway, Rhona Warren.

Apologies: Pam Cooper, Amy Cooper, Naomi Heffer, Barrie Mills, Jenny Ward, Fiona Gillespie.
