1. Opening Prayer – Bro. Ben Heffer opened the meeting with prayer.
2. Apologies for Absence – apologies were received from Bros. Dennis Dean, Robert Warren and Julian Calcutt; Srs. Angela Dean and Susan Greenaway; Revd Dennis Mason, Revd Jason St John Nicolle and Revd William Whyte.
3. Minutes of the AGM 2010 – the minutes of the meeting held on 17th March 2010 were read and approved. Proposed: Trevor Langrish. Seconded: Sid Cox.
4. Matters Arising – Bro Ben reported that he had produced a handbill with the chapter events on it and sent it to a number of local churches to publicise the chapter. A meeting was arranged and took place at St Barnabas’s Church Jericho as proposed.
5. Secretary’s Report – Bro Ben Heffer presented the Secretary’s Report, recording with sadness the passing of Bro Bill Quinell. The roll remains at 26 with the addition of a new associate member transferred from another chapter. The chapter met four times in the year and there have never been more than 20 people at any of the meetings. The prospects for the Guild at a national level are not good as many people consider joining the Ordinariate.
6. Treasurer’s Report – Bro Trevor presented the audited accounts and Treasurer's Report, which were approved and accepted. Proposed: Sid Cox. Seconded: Ken Belcher. Bro. Trevor reported that Fr Dennis, who has audited our accounts for the last 10 years, has asked to be relieved of the task as both he and his wife, Edna, are suffering with poor health. It was resolved that the secretary would write on behalf of the chapter expressing our appreciation of Fr Dennis’s help over the years.
7. Election of Chapter Officers – There being no other nominations, Bros Ben Heffer and Trevor Langrish were re-elected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Proposed by Bro Sid Cox and accepted unanimously.
8. Chapter Programme 2011 – Bro Ben reported that dates were being agreed with Fr Jason St John Nicolle for a meeting at Blewbury in May and that Fr Jonathan Beswick had agreed for the chapter to visit St Barnabas in November. It is anticipated that we will meet at Hampton Poyle in September if it can be arranged and at St Mary’s, Kidlington again for next year’s AGM. The meeting confirmed that the best evenings of the week for chapter meetings are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Bro Sid Cox suggested that we could meet at St Peter’s Didcot. He agreed to speak with Fr Edward Carter to see whether he would be in agreement.
9. Any Other Business – It was agreed to send a donation from chapter funds of £60 to the Candidates for Ordination Funds (COF). It was agreed to send a contribution from chapter funds of £20 to the Group Councillor towards his travelling expenses. Bro Ben noted the hard work that Cllr Clive Tilling on behalf of Provincial Group 9 and the chapter. It was agreed to conduct a recruitment drive again this year. Bro Ben offered an invitation any member that would like to be co-opted to the chapter committee.
